Georgia Summer
In the summer of 2024, I spent a week exploring the Savannah, GA area, at times venturing off to its outskirts such as Tybee Island.
It was impossible to not want to document the urban decay, and the exquisite architectural details scattered across the weathered buildings. From boarded-up houses to abandoned storefront, they were all meditative studies of texture, color, and most importantly human traces, and the stories that buildings had to tell.
I came away feeling that summer in Savannah also came with a special light. It was more than the golden hour glow on weathered facades, dramatic cloud formations, or the way harsh shadows create geometric patterns. Perhaps the intense humidity of the southern American summer had something to do with it.
